Please consider helping us with OUR MISSION to assist the people of North Kohala! Give to St. Augustine's Contributions to St. Augustine's help us continue our work to support the North Kohala community in these important ways:
Provide food through our Community Meals. At every meal we host, we feed 400-500 people, including seniors, children, and many who are food insecure. Our drive-through format is a safe way to deliver food.
Our Thrift Shop offers clothing and household goods that people need at very reasonable prices. This is a crucial service to our community, serving many who cannot travel out of town as well as those who need to provide for their families on a budget.
The Youth Programat St. Augustine's gathers children of all ages for Sunday School and for activities such as Teen Night every Friday and nature hikes. Our program is led by our talented Youth Director, Kathy Matsuda.
Outreach programs at St. Augustine's reach members of our community under the direction of Deacon Lani Bowman. St. Augustine's is one of only a few parishes in the diocese that have a deacon, and Deacon Lani's work with families through her role at Tutu and Me allows us to partner with many community programs.
Our livestreamed services bring the Word of God and the blessing of gathering in community to those who cannot attend in person. Our Buildings and Grounds chair, Brendan McDougall, heads this effort, volunteering his time and expertise in sound and video. As the pandemic continues, this has become a crucial aspect of our ministry.
COMMUNITY MEAL at St. Augustine's is served using a drive-through format to ensure the safety of our guests and servers. Kohala area community partners have joined with St. Augustine volunteers to provide a hot meal for the community. Our next Community Meal is April 25th.
