Your gift helps our community! Contributions to St. Augustine's help us continue our work to support the North Kohala community in these important ways:
Provide food through our Community Meals. We lovingly prepare and serve a meal every fourth Thursday of the month for our Kohala friends and neighbors. At every meal, we feed over 300 people, including seniors, children, and many who are food insecure. Come join us in Walker Hall for a sit-down meal and fellowship!
Our Thrift Shop offers clothing and household goods that people need at very reasonable prices. This is a crucial service to our community, serving many who cannot travel out of town, those who need to provide for their families on a budget, and people looking for new treasures. Items sold at our shop are not taken to the transfer station, which is better for our planet!
The Youth Programat St. Augustine's gathers children of all ages for Sunday School and for activities such as nature hikes and Teen Night. Our program is led by our talented Youth Director, Kathy Matsuda.
The St. Augustine's College Support Fund provides crucial support for our youth members who are continuing their education at a college, university, or trade school. Funds help students with costs such as books, materials, tools, and supplies needed for learning.
Outreach programs at St. Augustine's reach members of our community under the direction of Deacon Lani Bowman. St. Augustine's is one of only a few parishes in the diocese that have a deacon, and Deacon Lani's work with families through her role at Tutu & Me allows us to partner with community programs.
Our livestreamed services offer the blessing of gathering in community to those who cannot attend in person. Our Buildings and Grounds chair, Brendan McDougall, heads this effort, volunteering his time and expertise in sound and video.
