St. Augustine's College Support Program

St. Augustine’s grants financial awards to our students attending college or vocational schools. The program is designed to encourage students to pursue post-baccalaureate education/training by helping to defray the expense of tuition and room/board.

The fund is renewed annually with the goal to distribute all of the monies each year;  as a result the amount available for individual scholarships varies each year. Each year St. Augustine's members make contributions directed to the College Support Fund. The awardees are honored during Sunday worship in June.

St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church has a history of supporting our youth with scholarships with funds to continue their academic or vocational education following high school. 

To help us continue our tradition of supporting our youth, please consider giving to the St. Augustine’s College Fund. Whether you are a local Kohala resident or a friend of St. Augustine’s from elsewhere in the US, your help will allow our students to thrive. 

​Your gift enables our scholars to:
  • Minimize student debt. Costs for college and vocational education continue to rise, and student loans carry a high interest rate. Young professionals with scholarships pay off those loans more quickly and are able to start saving for the future.
  • Spend more time studying. Students who work during the school year have to juggle study time or turn down opportunities for extra activities in their academic field. Scholarships can reduce that burden, allowing students to work fewer hours and focus more on their studies.
  • Purchase necessary tools and equipment. The proper tools can make all the difference. Scholarships enable students to afford laptops and extra study materials or to invest in quality tools for their trade that will last a lifetime.
